In this course, limited companies from the same or closely related industries are guided through the course together which further broadens the sharing of transferable knowledge and directly applicable experiences for community learning. Precautions to protect confidentiality while encouraging transparency of facts are a key component throughout the course.
Each participant will have hands-on training in methods of communication, teamwork, leadership, program building and systems management that are specifically of matter and importance to you as the employer. Creating a functional foundation for a living safety program with trained safety leaders at your workplace can affect real change to your safe working environment.
This course consists of 30 instructional hours and is structured to take place over 24 weeks (or as appropriate for your corporate business cycle), and includes a one year subscription to YourSafetyApp! * Pre-requisites for your Joint Health & Safety Committee participation:
- Must include at least one person from each of the following corporate responsibility levels:
- senior management,
- supervisors, and
- workers,
- or as mandated by applicable legislation.
- At least one participant identified as a designated safety person with one of the following:
-- MSI’s Safety Leadership, Level 1 & MSI’s Systems Management, Level 1, or
-- Basic Safety Training through a CoR Certifying Partner such as ACSA, AMTA, MHSA, etc., or
-- Equivalent relevant experience with at least two years tenure, working directly with a workplace health and safety program, and a successful competency evaluation.
